Thomas Luke Msusa <br \/>of Blantyre.&nbsp; (Missing in the Photo is Bishop Martin Mtumbuka of Keronga) <\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nThe Catholic<br \/>\nBishops of Malawi (ECM) are planning to hold a thanksgiving Ceremony for the<br \/>\nsuccess of the 18th AMECEA Plenary Assembly, which was hosted by the<br \/>\nconference from 16th to 26th July, 2014. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\">\nAccording to Fr George Buleya, Secretary<br \/>\nGeneral of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM), the decision to have a special<br \/>\nthanksgiving Mass was made during the bishops\u2019 meeting that was held at the<br \/>\nCatholic Secretariat in Lilongwe, on 11th September, 2014, when they<br \/>\nreceived a preliminary report from the AMECEA 2014 Plenary Committee.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\">\n\u201cThe thanksgiving ceremony may<br \/>\nnot attract the kind of multitude that was there during the plenary assembly.<br \/>\nNevertheless, it will be national in that the Conference plans to have<br \/>\nrepresentatives from all the dioceses from across the country attending the<br \/>\nceremony,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nThe event<br \/>\nhas been scheduled to take place on 31st January 2015 in Lilongwe,<br \/>\nduring which the bishops, while thanking God, will also make special<br \/>\nrecognition of Christians, Catholic institutions, and all people of good will<br \/>\nwho significantly contributed to the success of the plenary assembly. \u201cThe<br \/>\nConference is indeed very grateful to all people that participated in one way<br \/>\nor the other during the preparations and the actual Plenary Assembly,\u201d said Fr.<br \/>\nBuleya. <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nAt the same<br \/>\noccasion, it is expected that the bishops will also launch a booklet that<br \/>\ncontains official proceedings of the 18th AMECEA plenary, as the<br \/>\nbishops want the message to reach out to all Christians at grassroots level. \u201cPreparations<br \/>\nfor implementation of the plenary\u2019s resolution have already started. For<br \/>\ninstance, the bishops have set up a special committee under ECM\u2019s pastoral<br \/>\ndepartment, to find ways of engaging Christians into serious reflection on the<br \/>\nmessage of that came from the 18th AMECEA plenary bishops,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nAccording to<br \/>\nreports at the Catholic secretariat, the bishops in Malawi have decided to find<br \/>\nways of bringing the 18th AMECEA Plenary Message to the grassroots<br \/>\nlevel. \u201cSome dioceses have already translated into local languages the communiqu\u00e9<br \/>\nthat the newly elected chairman of AMECEA, Most Rev. Berhaneyesus Souraphiel,<br \/>\nArchbishop of Metropolitan Archdiocese of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia presented to<br \/>\nthe faithful during the closing ceremony of the 18th AMECEA Plenary<br \/>\nAssembly.\u201d <\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\">\nThe 18th AMECEA<br \/>\nPlenary Assembly in Malawi has been lauded as the best in the history of AMECEA<br \/>\nand the Malawi Bishops attributes that success to the ordinary people of Malawi<br \/>\nwho owned the event, supported it entirely and ensured that everything was a<br \/>\nsuccess.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; text-align: justify;\">\n<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">Source:<br \/>\nFr.
