\nThe three mother church bodies in Zambia have received the news of
\nthe passing of the Republican of Zambia His Excellency Michael Chilufya Sata
\nwith deepest sorrow and heartfelt sadness. This was expressed in a joint letter
\nsigned by Rev. Suzanne Matale General Secretary, Council of Churches in Zambia,
\nRev. Pukuta N. Mwanza Executive Director, Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia and
\nFr. Cleophas Lungu Secretary General for Zambia Episcopal Conference.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe letter said that the demise of the president is very
\ndisturbing and casts a dark cloud over the nation given the fact that it
\nhappened at a time when the country has been commemorating its golden jubilee.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cOn behalf of the three Christian church mother bodies in Zambia
\nwe express our sincere condolences to the first family, the government and the
\npeople of Zambia following this great loss. We urge all the Zambians to remain
\ncalm, peaceful and united during this period of mourning so that we can give
\nthe late President a befitting and a dignified send off. We urge everyone to
\nunite and pray for the peaceful transition in both government and the rest of
\nthe country,\u201d The letter read.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe three church mother bodies have since said that the nation must
\nturn to God during this very sad moment and pray for the comfort and
\nencouragement from God.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMeanwhile Zambian Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Rowland Msiska
\nannounced that the late President will be put to rest on Tuesday, 11th
\nNovember, 2014 at Embassy Park the presidential burial site.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nDr Msiska told a media briefing in Lusaka on Thursday 30th
\nOctober that the late President\u2019s remains will arrive back home on Saturday, 1st
\nNovember.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nPresident Sata 77 died in London on Tuesday, 28th September
\nwhere he had gone for medical treatment.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMay the soul of the late President rest in God’s eternal peace and
\nmay Zambia continue to be united in the difficult circumstances as we look to
\nthe future.<\/div>\n
