\nThe Catholic
\nUniversity of Eastern Africa (CUEA) hosted the 13th General Assembly Conference
\nof Catholic Theological Institutions (COCTI) which started on Tuesday November
\n4th (Evening) to 7th , 2014 at Lang\u2019ata Campus,
\nNairobi-Kenya.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n
\nThe
\nconference is organized by CUEA\u2019s Faculty of Theology led by the Dean of the
\nFaculty Rev. Prof. Constance Bansikiza and has a theme of \u201cImpacts of the Real
\nContexts in Doing Theology\u201d.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCOCTI is an
\ninternational association represented by Deans, Directors and Researchers from Theological
\nfaculties at various Catholic Universities around the world. Every three years,
\nthe General Assembly offers a unique opportunity for Deans and Directors of
\nCatholic Institutions, which are engaged in Higher Education and in research in
\nthe field of theological studies, to meet and discuss matters that are related
\nto their academic leadership.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThis General
\nAssembly is open to the representatives of all COCTI members and associates, as
\nwell as to the heads of any other theological institution that shares the
\nobjectives of COCTI.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe main
\nactivity of COCTI is to create and maintain a world network, to disseminate
\ninformation of common use, to encourage the mounting of concerted projects, to
\ncollect funds for these activities, especially those that are oriented towards
\nresearch.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nFr. Febian
\nPikiti Coordinator of AMECEA Pastoral Department led the delegates in the Eucharistic
\ncelebration to open the assembly at the University Chapel. Also present at the
\nconference is Rev. Prof. Marie Courau, O.P. \u2013 Paris, France the President of
\nCOCTI.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMeanwhile;<\/i><\/b> CUEA has signed a Memorandum of Agreement
\n(MoA) with the American University <\/div>\n
\n

The signing of the MoA<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nfrom Washington DC.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe MoA,
\nwill mainly promote the exchange of students between the two institutions and
\nalso promote other forms of academic exchanges between the two institutions.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCUEA
\nwas represented by the Vice Chancellor, Msgr. Dr. Pius Rutechura and the
\nAmerican University by the provost, Scott A. Bass at the signing ceremony.<\/div>\n
