\nChairman of Communications Commission of Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops
\n(KCCB), Rt Rev. David Kamau has challenged those working in the Catholic Media houses to remain the
\nvoices of integrity.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop Kamau
\nwas speaking in Nairobi on Tuesday 18th November when he officially
\nopened a one-week Annual General Meeting of Diocesan Communications Secretaries
\nand heads of various Catholic Media houses in the country.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cCommunication is becoming a central part of all
\nactivities of the Church, and in information saturated world, we need to stand
\nout as Catholic Communicators and do things differently from other journalists
\nguided by the Social Teaching of the Church,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cI cannot over-emphasize this need at a time when ethical values have
\ndegraded so much that many people can no longer differentiate right from wrong,” he said adding that “We live in a time when, like in the times of the prophets
\nof old, we have to use our media to call people to the truth.\u201d <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Bishop Kamau, who is also the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi, applauded the dioceses whose radio stations
\nhave since improved and are doing much better. \u201cWe have had wonderful
\nimprovements in Radio Waumini <\/i>in
\nNairobi Archdiocese, Radio Akicha<\/i> in
\nthe diocese of Lodwar and Radio Amani<\/i>
\nin the diocese of Nakuru. I am also reliably informed that Radio Upendo<\/i> in Eldoret diocese has already received funds to set
\nup a modern studio,\u201d he pointed out.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nWhile congratulating the Vicariate of Isiolo, for
\nlaunching Radio Shahidi <\/i>last month,
\nBishop Kamau noted with delight that, \u201cClearly, the Catholic voice is slowly
\nbut steadily dominating the airwaves in Kenya.\u201d<\/div>\n
