\nFollowing the 16th
\nGeneral Assembly of the Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central
\nAfrica (ACWECA) in Lusaka, Zambia, where at least 150 Superiors of different
\ncongregations gathered to share and discuss many issues under the theme \u201cGo do not be afraid and serve<\/i>\u201d, the
\nassembly endorsed Sr. Eneless Chimbali of Servants of Blessed Virgin Mary (SBVM) in Malawi as
\nSecretary General of ACWECA.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking to ECM
\nCommunications department on the sidelines of her appointment, Sr. Chimbale who
\ntakes over the position from Sr. Cathrine Okari of BVM-Loreto Sister from Kenya
\nsaid her new job is the most challenging one
\nbut her trust lies in God.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cIt is God himself who
\nmade it possible for things to go in this way. I never expected in my life that
\none day I will go on Mission and now I have no choice but to fulfill the
\nmandates that ACWECA wants to achieve in the next three years,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nShe said among others, her
\nmajor tasks will be to promote, enhance, deepen and strengthen religious life through holistic
\nformation at every level, promote capacity building for Mission by using Holistic Organizational Capacity Assessment
\nInstrument (HOCAI) and Sub-Recipient Financial Management Policy (SRFMP) so as
\nto become more effective and to
\ncontinue to build solidarity with the Sisters in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan and
\nSouth Sudan.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cI say like Mother
\nTheresa who said \u2018alone I cannot change
\nthe world but I can cast a stone in the water and create many ripples<\/i>\u2019.My
\ntrust is in my God as this is His work and not mine\u201d she said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSr. Chimbali who until
\nher appointment to ACWECA was the Secretary General for the Association of
\nWomen Religious In Malawi (AWRIM) thanked fellow sisters in Malawi who helped
\nher to work better for its successes.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMeanwhile Sr. Prisca Matenga of Daughters of Redeemer in Zambia was
\nelected the Chairperson of the Executive which is composed of one member from
\neach member countries of ECWECA.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nACWECA has member
\ncountries from the AMECEA region namely Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia,
\nUganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia.<\/div>\n
