The Holy
\nFather Pope Francis has on 9th December 2014 appointed the Bishop of Machakos,
\nRt. Rev. Martin Kivuva Musonde as the new Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of
\nMombasa. <\/p>\n

\nMost Rev. Martin Kivuva Musonde, 62, who is
\nalso the Chairman of the KCCB – Commission for Social Communications, was born on 10th February 1952. He was
\nordained priest on 9th December 1978 and installed Bishop of Machakos on 9th
\nJune 2003.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\nArchbishop
\nKivuva replaces the late Archbishop Boniface Lele who retired on 1st November
\n2013 on health grounds and who passed away on 9th April 2014 aged 67. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\nThe
\nArchdiocese of Mombasa has been under the care of the Bishop of Malindi, Rt.
\nRev. Emmanuel Barbara OFM Cap, who has been serving as the Apostolic
\nAdministrator since his appointment by the Holy Father on 2nd
\nNovember 2013.<\/div>\n
