\nThe Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for Oriental Churches His Eminence Leonardo Cardinal  Sandri, made a pastoral visit to the Catholic Church of Ethiopia, a visit that started on December 5,
\n2014. <\/div>\n

\nwas greeted by His Grace Archbishop Berhaneyesus, Metropolitan Archbishop of
\nAddis Ababa, the President of the Catholic Bishops\u2019 Conference of Ethiopia and
\nChairman of AMECEA and all the Bishops of Ethiopia at the Nativity Catholic
\nCathedral. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCardinal
\nSandri said he was particularly pleased with the parade and warm welcome from
\nthe Scout members of the Nativity Catholic Cathedral School.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAt the
\nclosing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee symposium, the Amharic translation of
\n\u2018The Joy of the Gospel\u2019 was launched and Cardinal Sandri presented it to all
\nthe delegates of the Eparchies, Vicariates and Pastoral Agents of
\nEvangelization who participated in the symposium. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe said \u201cI
\nwill present a copy of this book to the Holy Father; it will be a great joy for
\nhim to know that you are not only speaking about \u2018The Joy of the Gospel\u2019 but
\nalso have translated it into your local language for all the people.\u201d <\/div>\n

\nOn Saturday
\nDecember 6, 2014 Cardinal Sandri led the Congregation in the Eucharistic
\nCelebrations at the Nativity Cathedral, that was also attended by all the Bishops and the Parish
\nPriests in Addis Ababa. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn his
\nHomily Cardinal Sandri said \u201cI am pleased to be celebrating Mass today in the Ethiopian
\nRite. As prophesied by David that \u2018Ethiopia will stretch her hands to God\u2019 I
\ncan see that you are stretching your hands to pray with your brothers from the
\nLatin Rite. But we must make sure we don\u2019t always stretch out our hands to ask but
\nalso to praise and thank God for all the Divine gifts we receive.\u201d<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nCardinal Sandri gave the blessings of the Holy Father, Pope Francis and presented
\nHis Grace Berhaneyesus with a medal prepared on the occasion of the Synod on
\nthe Family. He called on all the faithful to pray for the family throughout the
\nworld.<\/div>\n
