\nCatholic
\ncommunicators have been challenged to spread the message of the Holy Father far
\nand wide to reach as many people as possible and to constantly remind the
\nleaders to follow the advice of the Holy Father in ensuring that Kenya is a
\nNation that cares for humanity and nature.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAddressing
\nthe Diocesan communication coordinators, Radio Managers and Publication editors
\nin Kakamega last week, the Chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops
\n(KCCB) – Commission for Social Communications\/Waumini communications Rt. Rev.
\nJoseph Obanyi urged the communicators to follow up and communicate about the
\nimpact of Pope Francis message in the lives of Kenyans during his visit last
\nNovember. \u201cFind out what is going on, are the people becoming more aware and
\ntalking boldly about issues like corruption?\u201d He asked.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n

\nObanyi who is the Bishop of Kakamega called on the Catholic Media to be more
\nproactive as the political temperatures rise towards the general elections
\nslotted for 8th, August, 2017. \u201cBe ahead of situations that may arise whether
\npositive or negative and counter the bad with good.\u201d He said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Bishop
\nreminded the communicators that they have a very important responsibility to
\nboldly talk about issues affecting the country echoing the words of the Holy
\nFather on his call to the consecrated life \u201cwake up to wake up the world\u201d
\nadding that the Catholic media should journey with the secular media in
\nensuring that both religious and political leaders maintains peace and tranquility.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop
\nObanyi also called on the Catholic Radios to have synergy in day to day running
\nof their programs. \u201cYou should have the sense of solidarity and sharing of
\ncommon programs. Get a chance to meet and coordinate for common programs,
\nexchange programs and views for unity and harmony as you inform, educate,
\nentertain and evangelize the people. He said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe one week
\nmeeting held from 7th-11th, March 2016, was coordinated by the National office
\nled by the Waumini Communications Managing Director David Omwoyo and brought
\ntogether more than 30 participant from different Dioceses and Catholic Radio
\nStations.<\/div>\n
