\nAs the
\nuniversal Church Celebrates the 3rd Anniversary of the Pontificate of Pope
\nFrancis, Kenyans are being reminded of his messages of consolation and encouragement
\nthat he delivered four months ago during his Apostolic Voyage to Kenya.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking at
\nhis residence on 14th, March, 2016, during the celebrations in honor of the
\nPope\u2019s anniversary, the Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya His Excellency Charles D.
\nBalvo reminded the Kenyan Government to show genuine concern for the needs of
\nthe poor, aspirations of the young and a just distribution of natural and human
\nresources with which Kenya is blessed.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Nuncio
\nalso reiterated the Holy Father\u2019s message to the Ecumenical and Religious
\nleaders. \u201cHe left words of inspiration and guidance, religious leaders to work
\ntogether in facing the many problems affecting the human family.\u201d<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe also
\ncalled on Kenyans at large to commit themselves to concert action based on
\nprinciple of solidarity, justice, equality and participation with the intention
\nof lessening the impact of climate change, fighting poverty and ensuring
\nrespect for human dignity.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nArchbishop
\nBalvo appreciated the intensive preparations and the cooperation between KCCB
\nand the Government that elicited an excitement and enthusiasm during the Pope\u2019s
\nvisit. \u201cThe two days of the Holy Father and his entourage\u2019s visit were full of
\nexcitement and enthusiasm which evens the rain could not stop.\u201d He recalled.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking at
\nthe occasion, Kenya Conference of the Catholic Bishops (KCCB) Chairman Rt.
\nRev. Philip Anyolo wished the Holy Father a Happy Anniversary and long life on
\nbehalf of the Bishops saying, it was a wonderful moment to congregate to
\ncongratulate His Holiness and thank him for his works and deeds for the
\nuniversal Church, promising him continued prayers.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe
\ncelebration was attended by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, the Bishops,
\nPriests, religious men and women, KCCB staff representatives, Diplomats, the
\nGovernment representatives among other dignitaries.<\/div>\n
