\nThe Catholic Media institutions of Tanzania have resolved to start
\na venture of collaboration in order to provide a rich content to the wider
\naudience in the country and beyond.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe resolution was passed during the Directorate meeting of
\nTanzania Episcopal Conference involving the Diocesan directors of communication,
\nCatholic radio directors and other media institutions held at the Catholic
\nSecretariat, TEC Kurasini from 10th to 12th March 2016.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn this new resolution the Catholic Media practitioners from diocesan
\nlevel will now start sharing information and program of similar content to
\nreach a wider audience fast. The exchange of program, experience and expertise will
\nbring bigger impact and increase the efficiency of the coverage to the wider
\naudience.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking
\nduring the opening of the meeting, the Bishop Chairman of the Communication
\ncommittee Rt. Rev Bernadin Mfumbusa asked the diocesan communication directors
\nto work hard and improve their knowledge and skills as the communication milieu
\nis changing very fast.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe said
\nthat Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) which is undergoing restructuring of
\nits secretariat intends to increase the efficiency in the performance of its
\nactivities. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAccording
\nto Bishop Mfumbusa in the new structure, Bishops do not chair departments,
\ninstead new directorates have been formed to oversee the activities of the
\ndepartments. The directors now work directly under the Secretary General of the
\nConference whose powers are more or less like those of CEO in a typical
\ncorporation. \u201cThat is to say Communication Committee is among the seven Committees
\nof the Permanent Council,\u201d he explained. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop
\nMfumbusa said that Communication Directorate is tasked to enhance internal
\ncommunication within the Conference and external communication with other
\nstakeholders. Also it will manage communication assets such as televisions,
\nradio, newspapers, and printing presses.<\/div>\n
