\nThe AMECEA
\nICT Coordination Office has organized a Four-Day forum of ICT coordinators from AMECEA
\nmember countries that intends to bring ICT persons from AMECEA member
\nconferences together to build more on ICT related technical skills and sharing
\nof technical knowledge and challenges, and deliberate on the way forward and
\ncollaboration <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAccording to
\nMr. Bernard Mberere, the ICT Coordinator at AMECEA secretariat, the forum which
\nis the first one since the establishment of the office at the secretariat,
\nintends to achieve more on online presence of each and every AMECEA member
\nconferences. This entails sharing more knowledge and skills on websites design
\napplications, development, hosting, updating and maintenance and creating of
\nmore robust online systems.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe main
\nobjective of the forum is to equip all participants with knowledge and skills
\nto be competent webmaster using modern development tools and Content Management
\nSystems (CMS). This will play a big role in the development of each AMECEA
\nconference in relations to online presence to effectively share information as
\na means of Evangelization to the world.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cWe believe
\nthat at the end of this 1st AMECEA ICT forum, our objectives will be achieved
\nand hence set the platform to launch other technological platform for better
\ncommunication and evangelization to the world through the use of ICT, related
\ntechnologies and the Internet,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe forum
\nwill also deliberate on how ICT can support the networking of the radio
\nstations as it is the case of South Sudan; it will also look for possible ways
\nof communicating via teleconferencing and VoIP.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking about
\nthe forum, AMECEA Social Communication Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Chrisantus Ndaga
\nsaid that the forum is one of the ICT activities planned to be implemented in this
\nyear in view of enhancing ICT apostolate in the region which began by the establishment of the ICT office at the secretariat.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe said that
\nit is the wish of the Social Communication Department that the ICT strategies for AMECEA secretariat
\noffice trickle down to national conference and even to the diocesan level. \u201cI
\nam grateful that almost all AMECEA conferences have employed an ICT
\nofficer,” he said adding that “This gives us an ambient for greater collaboration with the
\nconferences.\u201d<\/div>\n
