Archbishop
\nMartin Kivuva of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa, together with students
\nfrom Loreto Convent Mombasa planted 1000 trees at the Loreto grounds to mark
\nthe school\u2019s Environment Day on 4th April, 2016.<\/p><\/div>\n

\nSpeaking
\nat the event, Archbishop Kivuva said \u201cIn the book of Genesis, God created human
\nbeings and told them to be caretakers of creation. Pope Francis always reminds
\nus to care for the environment.\u201d <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe
\nhead teacher of Loreto Convent, Sr. Gertrude Mallya IBVM said that the new
\nforest will be named \u2018Pope Francis Forest\u2019 – in honour of the Holy Father, Pope
\nFrancis who showed a deep desire to see that God\u2019s creation is taken care of
\nand has a great affection for the environment.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nTogether
\nwith Archbishop Kivuva, the event also attracted staff and students of the
\nschool who spent their time planting trees all-round the school.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSamaritan\u2019s
\nPurse, a humanitarian aid organization donated the trees.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
