\nThe Head of Social Communications Department of AMECEA, Rev. Fr.
\nChrisantus Ndaga has challenged the ICT personnel from AMECEA Region to think of
\nembarking on Video Conferencing in order to reduce the cost of travel around
\nthe region.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAddressing the participants during the closing ceremony of the ICT
\nforum that was held in Nairobi, Kenya from April 5-8, 2016, Fr Ndaga said that AMECEA
\nis probing for some ways of introducing video conferencing as a first step
\ntowards reducing costs of hosting training, traveling, enhancing productivity
\nand improving communication.  \u201cI want you
\nto support us with your skills in the realization of the is project as a first
\nstep towards reducing costs of hosting training, traveling, enhancing productivity
\nand improving communication,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cIf I can call someone via Skype, Viber, WhatsApp or Facebook and
\nWe video Chat, how can it be impossible for us experts in ICT take advantage of
\nthe technology?\u201d he said adding \u201cIf we can manage to adapt this method then our
\nrelevance will be felt in our conferences since we will be able to connect
\neasily, share and learn more.\u201d<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe added that the transformation will be achieved through rapid
\nexpansion of ICT networks and services that are affordable and accessible. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cWe have already met with several sponsors who are ready to
\npartner with us once we adapt this method. I am positive that this plan will be
\nvery effective,\u201d he explained.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe urged the participants to also create an open forum on how
\nCatholic Radio Stations can use ICT and internet to facilitate information
\nsharing in all the conferences to reach as many people as possible to promote
\nevangelization. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn his remarks, the ICT specialist of AMECEA, Bernard Mberere, who
\nwas also a facilitator at the workshop, said that the training was very
\nefficient and effective. He called on all participants to put into practice the
\nskills they have gained from the training once they go back to their
\nconferences, to effectively carry out its mandate and remain relevant and
\nup-to-date. <\/div>\n
