Rev.\u00a0\u00a0Wilbroad Henry Kibozi, the Apostolic Administrator of Kondoa Diocese, following the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/index.php\/2026\/04\/15\/amecea-amecea-bishops-eulogize-bishop-mfumbusa-as-a-singular-gift-to-the-church\/\">death<\/a>\u00a0of Bishop Bernardin Francis Mfumbusa, who has been at the helm of the Diocese for the past 14 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The announcement by the Apostolic Nuncio to Tanzania, Archbishop Angelo Accattino, was made on Wednesday, April 22, during the funeral Mass of the Late Bishop Mfumbusa\u00a0at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Kondoa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Translating the message that was read by the Nuncio in Latin, the Secretary General of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC), Fr. Charles Kitima, highlighted that the Diocese has been declared vacant. After careful consideration of all matters with the special authority granted by Pope Leo XIV, Bishop Kibozi will assist in the diocese during the vacancy until a new Bishop is appointed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He clarified that the Holy See grants the appointed bishop all the powers that the law assigns to an Apostolic Administrator; hence, he will handle all matters for the diocese of Kondoa during the transitional period.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bishop Kibozi was born on April 30, 1973 in Dodoma.
