The Secretary General of the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), Fr. Francis Mukosa, has called for unity, courage, and renewed commitment to mission as the Catholic Secretariat resumes work after the Easter break.<\/p>\n
Delivering a homily during the Second Week of Easter on April 13, 2026, Fr. Mukosa reflected on readings from Acts 4:23\u201331, emphasizing how the early Church responded to opposition through united prayer and trust in God. He noted that Peter and John, despite facing threats, returned to their community and prayed \u201cwith one heart and one voice,\u201d asking for boldness rather than safety.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Fr. Mukosa said this example should inspire staff at the Secretariat to work together in unity and dedication as they continue serving the Church and the nation.<\/p>\n
\u00a0He further reminded staff that the Secretariat is not merely an administrative office but a vital centre where the Church\u2019s mission in Zambia is coordinated, unity is strengthened, and service is organized for the common good.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Drawing from the Gospel of John, he highlighted the role of the Holy Spirit in bringing renewal and transformation, urging staff to embrace this Spirit as they resume their duties.<\/p>\n
\u00a0He also encouraged employees to deepen their trust in God, seek divine guidance in their work, and remain open to the Holy Spirit. He expressed hope that the Easter break had refreshed staff and called on them to return with renewed zeal.<\/p>\n
Fr. Mukosa further urged staff to live out the values of peace, reconciliation, and environmental stewardship, especially during the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi.<\/p>\n
