The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba, Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima has handed over a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Ambulance to Matiya Health Centre on Wednesday this week at the Bishop\u2019s House in Zomba.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Diocesan Leader thanked God for providing the gift to the Diocese through MIVA Austria. He thanked MIVA Austria for supporting the efforts of Zomba Diocese in providing appropriate care to the patients through the provision of the ambulance.<\/p>\n

The Prelate was also grateful to the Diocesan Health Coordinator, Sr. Emma Nazombe DW, for putting in much effort in making sure that all necessary health matters receive much-needed attention, including helping with mobility challenges.<\/p>\n

The Bishop also advised the In-Charge of Matiya Health Centre, Sr. Martha Misoya, to take care of the vehicle by ensuring it is used appropriately and fulfilling the Diocese’s intention, which is also the donor’s intention. \"\"<\/p>\n

On her part, Sr. Nazombe expressed her appreciation to the Diocese, through the Bishop, for the support rendered to the Diocesan Health Commission and asked for continued collaboration in all administrative issues.<\/p>\n

Sr. Martha Misoya, together with her management, welcomed the donation with special joy and thanked the Bishop and MIVA Austria for the support. She said that the ambulance will help in responding quickly to the needs of the facility. She was grateful to the Health Coordinator for the administrative support.<\/p>\n

All the parties were grateful to MIVA Austria agent, Ignas Peter Sokoro, from Sedetra Daressalam in Tanzania, for bringing the vehicle to the Diocese.<\/p>\n

The Catholic Diocese of Zomba has 7 health facilities. Matiya Health Centre has a population of 36000, which demands more mobility of ambulances. The donation will help a lot in referrals, apart from normal ambulance operations.\u00a0\u00a0 With this donation to Matiya, mobility challenges remain at Chipini, Pirimiti, Chaone, and St. Robert.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
