{"id":23677,"date":"2025-12-05T20:30:28","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T20:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/?p=23677"},"modified":"2025-12-05T20:30:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T20:30:28","slug":"malawi-bishop-mwakhwawa-addresses-disruptions-during-mass-calls-for-greater-reverence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/05\/malawi-bishop-mwakhwawa-addresses-disruptions-during-mass-calls-for-greater-reverence\/","title":{"rendered":"MALAWI: Bishop Mwakhwawa Addresses Disruptions During Mass, Calls for Greater Reverence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00a0Brenard Mwanza <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His Lordship Vincent Frederick Mwakhwawa, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lilongwe in Malawi, has called on the faithful to uphold reverence and perseverance during the Mass, emphasizing that the Eucharistic celebration must never be interrupted, even in the face of challenges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The call followed Bishop Mwakhwawa\u2019s visit on Sunday, 30<sup>th<\/sup> November 2025, to St. Paul\u2019s Church at Namitete Parish, where he personally thanked and encouraged the Holy Childhood members (Missionary Children).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The visit recognized their exemplary participation during the National Launch of Epiphany Sunday preparations held on November 16 at Holy Rosary, Likuni Parish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the launch, heavy rain fell just as the distribution of Holy Communion was ending. Despite the downpour, the children continued singing the hymns with devotion and discipline, drawing admiration from the Episcopate, Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) officials, parish leaders, and fellow faithful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThese children show remarkable faith and resilience,\u201d Bishop Mwakhwawa said. \u201cTheir commitment reminds us that the Eucharistic celebration must not be interrupted, and after communion is a sacred time of silence when one demonstrates faith in the Eucharist. Faith is tested in times of difficulty, and perseverance is a virtue we must all embrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Bishop took the opportunity to thank parents, animators, and church leaders for nurturing the children\u2019s talents and faith. He further praised the choir mistress for her dedication, coordination, and skills in directing the choir, noting that the children sang with harmonious voices and extraordinary courage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bishop Mwakhwawa, former National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Malawi, also reminded the children of this year\u2019s Missionary Childhood theme: &#8220;Children: Be One in Christ, United in Mission.&#8221; \u201cLet us all learn from these children to stay faithful, courageous, and committed to God in every circumstance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The visit concluded with blessings to the children, their families, and all those supporting the formation of young people in faith.
