Rev Christian Carlassare and entire Diocese of Bentiu in South Sudan and all those affected by a devastating plane crash that happened in Bentiu, Unity State, on 29<sup>th<\/sup> January 2025, claiming lives of 20 people with only one surviving.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic plane crash in Bentiu, which has claimed the lives of 20 people, including four whom I had the privilege of knowing personally. I extend my heartfelt condolences to you, to the families affected, to the people of Bentiu and to the Greater Pioneer Operational Company. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this incredibly difficult time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u201cSuch a loss is a reminder of the fragility of life and the pain that comes with it,\u201d he stated and continued, \u201cWe pray for those who have passed, that they may find eternal peace, and for their families, that they may find strength and comfort in this time of sorrow\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bishop Eduardo in his letter also stated that the incident is a stark reminder that ensuring safety in all areas of life is important, stressing that there is need for greater measures to prevent future tragedies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To honor the memory of the departed, the prelate has announced that they will offer Holy Mass for the souls who have lost their lives as they trust in God\u2019s Mercy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe shall gather here to offer Holy Mass for the souls of those who lost their lives in this disaster.
