\nThe Holy
\nFather Pope Francis has on 16 April 2016, appointed Rev. Fr. Angelo Pagano,
\nO.F.M. Cap., as New Apostolic Vicar of Harar (Ethiopia) and assigned him the
\nTitular See of Fico. Since his appointment Fr. Pagano was Pastor and Project
\nManager of the Capuchin Custody, in Cameroon.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nAt the same
\ntime, the Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the
\nApostolic Vicariate of Harar presented by Rt. Rev. Woldetensa\u00e9 Ghebreghiorghis,
\nO.F.M. Cap., in accordance with canon 401 \u00a7 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The
\nHoly Father appointed Rev.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nRev. Fr.
\nAngelo Pagano, O.F.M. Cap., was born on January 15, 1954 in Asmara (Eritrea),
\nat the time part of Ethiopia, to Italian parents who emigrated there. In 1973,
\nhe completed his primary and secondary studies, and obtained a diploma in
\nconstruction. At the age of 19, he returned with his family to Italy. On June
\n25, 1988 he was ordained a priest. Soon after, at his request, he was sent as a
\nmissionary to Cameroon.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSince his
\nordination he has served the following academic and pastoral roles: Assistant
\npriest of Shisong Parish, in the Diocese of Kumbo (1989-1992); Pastor of the Parish
\ncommunity of Shisong (1992-2003); President of the Conference of the Capuchins
\nof Western Africa (1988-2000); the Capuchin Delegation of Cameroon is promoted
\nto Custody and he became the First Guardian (1993-2000); member of the Council
\nof Priests of the Diocese of Kumbo (1996-2003); Vice-Provincial of the Capuchin
\nVice-Province in Ethiopia (2003-2009); Superior of the Capuchin Custody of Yaound\u00e9,
\nin Cameroon (2009-2014).<\/div>\n
