Fr. Stephen Mbugua Ngari has lauded the team representing the university\u2019s Faculty of Law for emerging best overall team (Anglophone) at the 8<sup>th<\/sup> Edition of the Ipeace Great Lakes Regional Moot Court Competition (8-14, October 2023 \u2013 Kigali, Rwanda).<\/p>\n<p>The Team comprising of Mr. Kenson Mutethia and Miss Jacinta Waititu emerged top after beating Makerere University Law School in a hotly contested final that was held at the Rwanda Supreme Court of Justice in Kigali. The competition attracted a multitude of Law Schools from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC, and Burundi.<\/p>\n<p>This is a great achievement, as the CUEA Law School entered as the competition as defending champions from the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Edition held in December 2019 where the team scooped best overall team, as well as best pleadings and best coach awards. \u00a0The fictitious case highlighted various violations of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in the Great Lakes region.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Musikali (Law Lecturer) who accompanied the team indicated that that she was highly impressed with the maturity and confidence exuded by the team as they responded to tough questions by the Judges.
