{"id":14574,"date":"2022-07-08T19:40:08","date_gmt":"2022-07-08T19:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/?p=14574"},"modified":"2022-07-08T19:40:08","modified_gmt":"2022-07-08T19:40:08","slug":"secam-cardinals-in-africa-invited-for-august-consistory-secam-plenary-assembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/index.php\/2022\/07\/08\/secam-cardinals-in-africa-invited-for-august-consistory-secam-plenary-assembly\/","title":{"rendered":"SECAM: Cardinals in Africa Invited for August Consistory, SECAM Plenary Assembly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Sr. Jecinter Antoinette Okoth, FSSA<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Cardinals serving in the African continent have been invited to attend the two upcoming events: the 19<sup>th<\/sup> Plenary Assembly for Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) and the consistory for the creation of new cardinals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SECAM assembly is slated for Monday July 25, to Monday August\u00a01, while the Consistory for creation of new cardinals will be held on Saturday August 27, after which 29-30 August, the Cardinals will reflect on the new Apostolic Constitution\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/francesco\/en\/apost_constitutions\/documents\/20220319-costituzione-ap-praedicate-evangelium.html\">Praedicate evangelium,<\/a> on the Roman Curia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe will soon celebrate the 19th Plenary Assembly of SECAM in Accra, Ghana, from Monday, July 25, 2022 to August 1, 2022. As you know, according to the statutes, all Cardinals are members by right.
