\nwhere refugees and migrants are fleeing have been challenged to take seriously
\nthe plight of refugees and address the issues causing them to escape from their
\nCountries of origin.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nDelivering
\nthe Pope\u2019s message for World Refugee day at Kakuma Refugee camp on 17th January
\n2016, Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) – Chairman for Refugees,
\nMigrants and Seafarers Rt. Rev. Joseph Alessandro called on leaders from
\nvarious countries to join hands in building peace and ensuring security and
\ndevelopment in waring nations as a way of bringing a lasting solution to the
\ndisplaced people.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Bishop
\nof Garissa who is also hosting refugees at Dadaab camp said it is not enough to
\ngive the displaced handouts but to ensure that they are living a dignified life
\nas all are precious and equal in the eyes of God.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nHe said Pope
\nFrancis expressed concern over the overall indifference to the dilemma of the
\npeople fleeing war, famine, and persecution as he addressed ambassadors in
\nVatican on 11th, January, 2016.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn this
\nextra ordinary jubilee year of Mercy, Pope Francis encourages the faithful to
\nlive the acts of mercy which includes: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the
\nthirsty, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting the sick,
\nvisiting the imprisoned, and burying the dead.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nBishop
\nAlessandro said the Church in Kenya\u2019s manifestation on the acts of mercy
\nwelcomes refugees from different countries as she, seeks to understand the
\ncauses of migration, works to overcome the negative effects of migration and
\nexploit the positive influence on the international community.  <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

\nthe refugees to accept each other and shun their differences back home. \u201cthe courage
\nborn of faith, hope and love enables us to reduce the differences and distances
\nthat separates us, Jesus is always waiting to be recognized in our brothers and
\nsisters migrants and refugees and through you, Jesus calls us to share our
\nhospitality, friendship, resources, care and love\u201d He said.<\/div>\n

\nThe world
\nRefugee day marked at Holy Cross Parish in Kakuma camp in the Diocese of Lodwar
\nwas also graced by (KCCB) – Vice Chairman for Refugees, Migrants and Seafarers
\nRt. Rev. Virgilio Pante and Bishop of Lodwar Rt. Rev. Dominic Kimengich who
\ncelebrated the Holy Mass with the refugees, KCCB team led by the National
\nExecutive Secretary and the Human Resource Manager Mrs. Margaret Masibo and NGO
\nofficials.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nKakuma
\nrefugee camp is a home to about 200,000 refugees from South Sudan, Sudan,
\nUganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Congo and Ethiopia.<\/div>\n
