{"id":11624,"date":"2021-02-05T19:29:53","date_gmt":"2021-02-05T19:29:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/?p=11624"},"modified":"2021-02-05T19:29:53","modified_gmt":"2021-02-05T19:29:53","slug":"malawi-government-shares-vision-to-cunima","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/communications.amecea.org\/index.php\/2021\/02\/05\/malawi-government-shares-vision-to-cunima\/","title":{"rendered":"MALAWI: Government Shares Vision to CUNIMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Luke Bisani<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Malawi Government through the National Planning Commission (NPC) on Wednesday this week, officially presented the Malawi Vision 2063 to the Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) as it seeks partnership with the University.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">NPC\u2019s Partnerships Resource Mobilization Manager Jennifer Mjuweni said the Commission is eying the institutions of higher learning such as CUNIMA to help the country with quality human capital through the provision of the right skills to students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Mjuweni also challenged institutions of higher learning in the country to conduct research that can help identify gaps as the nation strives to transform into upper-middle-income country by the year 2063.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u201cWe are not leaving anyone behind as we go along. The Vision incorporates all the sectors &#8211; the education sector included. We need your assistance in the implementation of this vision of our country. We are urging the University that moving forward, whatever plans the University has must be aligned to the Vision 2063,\u201d said Mjuweni.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">The Catholic University of Malawi Registrar, Francis Vincent Nkhoma, commended the Commission for sharing the vision with the institute saying Malawi needs collective effort to develop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">Nkhoma further urged the commission to ensure that the country is safeguarding the resources for the benefit of many Malawians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-ZA\">\u201cWe have resources that can transform this country, we just need to utilize them responsibly. Our colonial masters proved it, that is why they were scrambling for Africa.
