\n<\/a>The European Union and Konrad Adenauer
\nFoundation wants to strengthen ordinary Kenyans\u2019  rights to service delivery from the county
\ngovernments under a devolved system of government launched 4 years ago in Kenya
\nby strengthening logistical capacities of the Kenya Conference of Catholic
\nBishops (KCCB) \u2013 Catholic Justice and Peace Commission (CJPC) – in conjunction
\nwith<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nSpeaking to Waumini Communications, CJPC
\nNational Executive Secretary Beatrice Odera said the project dubbed
\nStrengthening the capacity of the state and none state actors for effective devolved
\ngovernance, aims at creating awareness on duties and obligations of county
\nassembly officials over devolved resources and services, and empower ordinary
\ncitizens to effectively contribute to legislative processes in their Counties.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe project is being implemented by three
\norganizations – Centre for Emergency Democracy and Good Governance (CFDGG) that
\ncovers West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo and Nakuru, Mobilization, agency
\nfor Paralegal Communities in Africa (MAPACA) in Kitui, Machakos and Makueni
\nand   CJPC which is covering Mombasa,
\nKilifi and Tana River.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMeanwhile,<\/i><\/b> CJPC received a
\ndonation of a Nissan X-trail worth ksh1.2million from the European Union and
\nKonrad Adenauer Foundation on January 28, 2016. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nKonrad Adenauer Foundation devolution program
\ndirector Gregor Jaecke said the car would be useful in implementing the project
\nin the coastal region by reaching out to the people at the grass root level.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe vehicle, which was received by Rev. Dr. Fr.
\nCharles Odira on behalf of KCCB General Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Rono,
\nwas the third of three cars donated by EU and Konrad Adenauer Foundation.<\/div>\n
