\nAMECEA Secretariat staff held a memorial mass service for the late Mama Emilia Pikiti, mother to Rev. Fr. Febian Mulenga Pikiti, the coordinator of AMECEA Pastoral Department.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMama Emilia passed
\naway on Christmas Eve, 24th December 2015 in Zambia. Rt Rev Charles Kasonde, AMECEA Executive Board Zambian delegate represented AMECEA to the funeral which took place on 29th December 2015 at Kasama. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe memorial
\nservice at the secretariat which was led by AMECEA Secretary General Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo
\nwas attended by AMECEA Staff, AMECEA Institutions\u2019 staff led by Vice Chancellor
\nof the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) Msgr. Pius Rutechura, and Rector
\nof AMECEA Bakanja College Rev. Fr. Patrick Nyongesa; First Secretary of the
\nZambia High Commission in Kenya Mr. Robert Kalimi, Zambian Priests working in
\nKenya among others.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nFr. Lugonzo
\nappreciated all who came for the Holy Mass, and termed it as an act of solidarity
\nwith the secretariat and spirit of brotherhood and neighborhood to Fr. Pikiti
\nand his family. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n\u201cWe continue
\nto pray for you and your entire family. Losing a mother is more painful,
\nhowever, be consoled that she is now in a better place and is with you in your
\nheart, she is praying for you and is watching over you,\u201d he told Fr. Pikiti.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMr. Kalimi
\nfrom Zambian High commission however, said that he did not attend the memorial service
\nin his capacity as an envoy from the commission, but as a friend and a brother
\nto Fr. Pikiti. He said that the memorial mass was a sign of good spirit and an
\nAfrican way of living.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

\n\u201cMama Emilio
\ndied at the age of 85 and we all wish to reach that age. What we should be
\nreflecting about is how did she manage to reach that age since the majority of
\npeople in our generation hardly live that long; was it the diet, the way of
\nlife, perhaps being obedient to God and the law of the land? This is something we
\nreally need to think about,\u201d Mr. Kalimi urged.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMeanwhile<\/i>, during the same memorial
\nprayers were also held in repose of the souls of Mama Helena Shula, and Job Malongo.
\nThe late mama Helena was the mother to Rev. Fr. Christopher Kafula of Marian
\nHill Missionaries. Fr. Kafula is from Zambia and is currently a student at
\nCUEA. His mother passed away on 2nd December 2015 and was buried on
\n5th December.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe Late Job
\nMalongo who passed away on 8th January 2016 and was buried on 12th
\nJanuary was a grandson to Edward Luganji Mulembani who is a staff at AMECEA
\nSecretariat.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nMay their
\nsouls rest in eternal peace Amen<\/div>\n
