Dr. Joachim Msaki<\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nThe head of department<br \/>\nof Religious Studies, at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Rev.<br \/>\nDr. Joachim Msaki passed away on 31st January 2016 after a short<br \/>\nillness in Nairobi, Kenya<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nInformation<br \/>\nreceived from the University, a requiem mass was offered for him on Thursday at<br \/>\nthe University\u2019s Main Campus in Langata Nairobi on Wednesday 3rd and<br \/>\nattended by CUEA students, staff, friends and alumni. Another Mass is scheduled<br \/>\nat the same venue on Sunday 7th at 7.30 am, after which the body<br \/>\nwill leave for Moshi, Tanzania his home diocese. Fr. Msaki will be laid to rest<br \/>\non Monday 8th February in Moshi.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nBorn on 19th<br \/>\nSeptember 1949, Fr. Msaki was ordained a priest of Moshi Diocese Tanzania on<br \/>\n11th June 1978. A doctor of Philosophy in Theology, Fr. Msaki joined CUEA 2009<br \/>\nas a visiting Lecturer from Mwenge University College (SAUT Constituent<br \/>\nCollege). He was appointed Head of Department of Religious Studies at CUEA in<br \/>\nOctober 2010 and in August 2015; he was promoted to the position of a Senior<br \/>\nLecturer.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify;\">\nAn ardent<br \/>\ncontributor to the promotion of Christian faith and inter religious dialogue,<br \/>\nFr. Msaki has quite a number of publications attributed to him.
