Poor people are also feeling the pinch as<br \/>\nthey don\u2019t have the financial muscle to buy the medicine from Pharmacies,\u201d he said<br \/>\nadding that \u201cit is worrisome to note that in other cases, more especially in<br \/>\nthe villages, people are buying medicines in uncertified shops and pharmacies which<br \/>\nis a big threat to their right to life\u201d.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\nMartin observed that so far<br \/>\nthere seem no any punitive measures given to those caught in the act of<br \/>\nstealing medicine from public hospitals and in an event that culprits are<br \/>\ncaught, not heavy punishment is given to them as the society expects.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n\u201cCCJP believes that life is<br \/>\nvery sacred and all efforts should be taken to make sure that people\u2019s lives<br \/>\nare not put at any risk,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\nOn food shortage situation,<br \/>\nCCJP calls upon government to take necessary measures to make sure that maize<br \/>\nis readily available in all Admarc deports and that those who connive with<br \/>\nAdmarc deport officials should be brought to book.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n\u201cWe urge the Police and<br \/>\nsectors involved to perform their role by ensuring that there is safety for<br \/>\nMalawians who go to Admarc deports to buy maize and that those vendors that buy<br \/>\nmaize dubiously should be arrested,\u201d said Chiphwanya.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\nHe also challenged<br \/>\npoliticians who are taking advantage of the scarcity of maize to stop conniving<br \/>\nwith Admarc officials and buy maize dubiously with the selfish minds to achieve<br \/>\ntheir political ambitions by donating in various fora including hospitals and<br \/>\npolitical meetings.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n\u201cFor instance,<br \/>\nin Chikwawa we have received reports that people are queuing up at Admarc<br \/>\ndepots for long hours, some even spending nights in order to buy maize. They<br \/>\nare being allowed to purchase 20 kilograms per person.
