A Catholic lay faithful from Chikwawa Diocese in Malawi, Mr Francisco Zonse and family, has donated a house to Catholic Nuns of the congregation of Mary Consoler of the Afflicted (MCA).

During the handover ceremony, Bishop Peter Musikuwa of the Diocese thanked the Zonses, saying this is one way of saving God. He also encouraged the Sisters to continue supporting them in their journey towards salvation.

Moved by gratitude for God’s blessings in his own life, Mr. Zonse felt called to “Give back to the lord and with humility approached the bishop for permission to construct the Sisters’ convent.

Speaking during the event, the Superior of the congregation, Sr. Sister Elizabeth Isabel Lapozo, said she is so grateful for the House, “This is a miracle, for years we have been praying for a home. Now God has answered through a faithful family.” She said.

She added that the congregation desires to be present and provide services to every parish in the Diocese.

The Congregation of Mary Consoler of the Afflicted (MCA) was founded by late Bishop Felix Mkholi in the year 1999, who is also the first black local ordinary of the diocese of Chikwawa.
