The Ordinary of the Diocese of Zomba, Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyo Chaima, has encouraged major seminarians in Malawi at St. Peter’s Seminary to listen and respond to God’s voice as they discern their priestly vocations.
Following his two-day visit to the seminary, Bishop Chaima emphasized the importance of dedication to hard work and prayer in answering God’s call.
“You need to continue listening to and hearing God’s voice. He needs you for this mission to serve His people as they journey through life,” stated Bishop Chaima.
He also highlighted the necessity of maintaining good moral behavior, reminding the seminarians that, as future priests, they are called to be models of virtue and integrity.
Bishop Chaima expressed that the Church requires good priests who can serve as witnesses to the Spirit through their actions.
Furthermore, he noted that good priests are a sign of hope for the people and communities around them.
St. Peter’s Major Seminary, located in the Diocese of Zomba, is currently training 112 seminarians from all eight dioceses in Malawi.
