ZAMBIA: The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) Zambia Holds 2025 National Council Meeting

On 21st February 2025, The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) Zambia National and Diocesan Directors 2025 National Council Meeting convened at the Serene Kasisi Retreat Centre.

In his opening remarks, National Director Rt. Rev. Edwin Mulandu, who is the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Mpika thanked the PMS Diocesan Directors from all eleven Dioceses of Zambia, namely Chipata, Kabwe, Kasama, Livingstone, Lusaka, Mansa, Mongu, Monze, Mpika, Ndola and Solwezi, for traveling from their distant locations to attend the meeting. During the celebration of the Closing Mass on Friday morning, 21st February, 2025, Bishop Mulandu bade farewell to the PMS Diocesan Directors, as his ten-year tenure as National Director, since 2025, would wind up in April 2025.

The PMS National Council Meeting, which commenced on 18th February, 2025 and lasted until 21st February, 2025, was held under the universal Jubilee Year 2025 theme – “Pilgrims of Hope.” It aimed at facilitating the exchange of PMS activities and missionary experiences among Diocesan Directors and the National Director, and rejuvenating their commitment to missionary formation and animation in Zambia.

During the meeting, PMS Diocesan Directors and the National Director presented reports highlighting PMS activities, achievements, challenges, and future plans emanating from their respective dioceses and the national office.

The meeting concluded with renewed commitment and hope among PMS Diocesan Directors.
