The Archdiocese of Lusaka’s senior management team led by His Grace, Most Rev. Alick Banda on Sunday concluded a pastoral visit to St. Lawrence Parish in Kamwala South with the confirmation of 137 candidates.
The Sacrament of Confirmation marked a significant spiritual milestone for the candidates, strengthening their faith and commitment to the Church, prior to the Pastoral Formation Workshop for parish leaders on Saturday.
Following the liturgical celebration, Archbishop Banda extended his ministry beyond the Church walls, moving into the nearby compound of Misisi and Kamwala South, bringing Holy Communion to the sick and bedridden.
He visited people in their homes offering them words of encouragement and reassurance of God’s unwavering presence in their lives.
His visit was a beacon of hope, reminding the faithful that they are never alone in their struggles.
During his homily, the archbishop reflected on the words of the prophet Jeremiah, urging the congregation to place their trust in the Lord.
“God sees our hunger and promises to satisfy us. Jesus invites us to embrace our vulnerability, knowing that God is in control.
In this Year of Hope, we are reminded that God does not abandon His own – naimwe kakabalika (for you too, it will dawn),” he said.
Emphasizing Christ’s mission, Archbishop Banda reminded the faithful that “Jesus came for the last, the least, and the lost.”
His message of hope and reassurance resonated deeply with the congregation, inspiring renewed faith and trust in God’s providence.
The Archbishop’s visit left a lasting impact on the community, strengthening their faith and reaffirming the Church’s presence in their daily lives.
