MALAWI: Zomba Laity Leaders Complete Leadership Workshop with Official Mandate

Newly elected laity leaders in the Catholic Diocese of Zomba have successfully completed a leadership workshop at Thondwe Pastoral Centre, where they were officially mandated to go and serve as office bearers in the diocese.

At the conclusion of the training, the Prelate of Diocese, Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima, encouraged the new leaders to serve the Christian community with integrity.

“Leadership is about service; we must serve with great humility and love,” said Bishop Chaima. “Remember to learn from Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, and take Him as a model for your leadership style.”

He praised the newly elected officials for their willingness to serve the Church in various capacities within the diocese.

The new leaders will serve a term of three years. Their leadership extends to the main Church groups at the Diocesan level.
