St. Michael Namwandwe Parish of and the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Mansa Diocese, have officially launched the Week for the Sick, a health-focused initiative aimed at promoting preventive care and well-being among the faithful.

The program was spearheaded by Fr. Rodgers Chanda, parish priest and pastoral director, alongside Fr. Christopher Kanja from the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary.

In a show of leadership by example, both priests actively participated in blood pressure (B.P.) and malaria testing, encouraging parishioners to prioritize their health.

Medical professionals were on hand to provide free health screenings and educate the community on disease prevention, underscoring the Church’s commitment to holistic well-being.

Throughout the week, additional activities will include prayers for the sick within Small Christian Communities, hospital visits, and health education programs on Radio Yangeni.
