UGANDA: “Live a Life of Prayer and Commitment”, Bishop Muhirwa to Daughters of St Theresa

Eight Religious women from the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Banyateresa, have professed their perpetual vows with a call on them to be obedient and non-materialistic on 6th Jan 2025.
The eight who profess the vow of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience, witnessed by the congregation’s Superior General Rev. Sr. Seraphine Kaitesirwa and the Ordinary of Fort Portal Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Muhirwa includes among others Sr. Priscilla Akiiki, Sr. Christine Ahurra Adyeeri, Sr. Hilda Tumwesige Adyeeri, Sr. Lucy Nyangoma Amooti all from Hoima Diocese and Sr. Christine Kabisembo Abwooli and Sr. Mary Kasingye Ateenyi from Mbarara Archdiocese.
In a related manner, Sr. Susan Kabugho, Sr. Marceline Biira, Sr. Valeria Biira, from the Diocese of Kasese, four from Fort Portal Diocese, one from Hoima Diocese and another from Rwanda, also celebrated Silver jubilee in Religious Life.
In his homily while presiding over the Holy Mass at the Banyateresa Mother House in Fort-portal City, Rt. Rev. Muhirwa congratulated the celebrants for responding to God’s call, urging them to live a life of prayer and obedience and always be at the foot of Jesus like the biblical Mary.
He called for a need to strive and walk like pilgrim in giving people hope who have lost it because of the different challenge in this world as the Mother Church celebrate the Jubilee year of Hope
Bishop Muhirwa encouraged believers in Christ to strive for a life of renewal, repentance and strive to receive Lord more worthily in the sacrament of Eucharist and the sacrament of penance in this jubilee year
The Superior General, Rev. Sr. Seraphine Kaitesirwa described the decision by the celebrants as a light of the congregation.
Sr. Valeria and Sr. Marceline Malikidogo, attributed their 25 years in the religious life to the grace of God, prayer, support by the lay faithful and the Church.
The Archbishop of Mbarara Most Rev. Lambert Bainomugisha concelebrated during Holy Mass where RDC Joshua Masereka among others, attended the function.
