The Parish priest of Holy Rosary Likuni Catholic Parish, Fr. Damiano Chitha, has emphasized the need for newly elected church leaders to serve with dedication to strengthen the church during their leadership tenure.
Fr Chitha made these remarks on Saturday, January 11, 2025, during a special mass he celebrated for the newly elected church leaders, highlighting the importance of their roles over the next three years.
He encouraged them to seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit, emphasizing that true wisdom begins with reverence for God.
“Your love for the Church should drive your commitment to active service,” he said.
The Parish Priest further referred to the leaders as the “heart of the Church,” stressing the importance of providing hope to the congregation “who believed in you during the election.”
Patrick Liphava, the newly elected chairperson of the Parish has expressed readiness to work hard to enhance the church’s activities.
“We will collaborate with previous leaders to ensure continuity and progress in building a strong church,” he said while speaking on behalf of the entire new team.
Liphava added, “We will share success stories from Small Christian Communities as a means of learning from each other how to tackle pressing issues, to inspire everyone to be an active Christian.”
The new leaders would serve the church across various levels from 2025 to 2027.
