The Bishop of Mpika Diocese in Zambia Rt. Rev. Edwin Mwansa Mulandu has condemned the rise of witchcraft belief in Zambia, calling it a disgrace for a Christian nation.

During his December 24 homily at the Cathedral in Mpika, Bishop Mulandu urged Christians to reject beliefs that undermine their faith, emphasizing that Catholics do not believe in the power of darkness.

He criticized some media outlets for promoting harmful messages instead of strengthening faith, expressing disappointment that such messages even come from educated individuals in cities like Lusaka.

Bishop Mulandu called on Christians to bring the light of Christ into society and to practice clean politics.

“We Catholics must spread the light of Christ, who has brought light into our hearts. Let’s show that the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light,” he said.
