The Cathedral Community of Ndola gathered in jubilant thanksgiving to celebrate the elevation of the Diocese of Ndola to an Archdiocese, and the appointment of Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD as its first Archbishop.
Presiding over the Mass, Archbishop Phiri delivered a profound homily highlighting the responsibilities that come with the Archdiocese’s new status.
He called on the faithful to embrace repentance, strive for true conversion, and live lives rooted in holiness.
Addressing parents, he urged them to nurture their children in faith while encouraging young people to respect and learn from their elders.
“Deepen your commitment to God and work diligently to lead lives worthy of His blessings,” the Archbishop advised.
In a show of gratitude and love, the congregation presented gifts to Archbishop Phiri.
The milestone marked a historic moment not just for the Archdiocese but for the entire Catholic community in Zambia.
Ndola was elevated to the status of Archdiocese on June 18, 2024 by the Holy Father Pope Francis.
