The Education Secretary of Chipata Diocese in Zambia, Fr. Mark Sai William Mwanza, has strongly discouraged married couples from seeking divorce, emphasizing the biblical foundation of marriage.

In his homily during morning Mass at St. Anne’s Cathedral, Fr. Mwanza expressed concern over the alarming rate of divorce cases in Zambia. He attributed this trend to a lack of understanding of the divine nature of marriage and the erosion of love and mutual understanding between couples.

Fr. Mwanza emphasized that the Bible teaches that marriage is of divine origin, and couples must cultivate love, respect, and understanding in their relationships.

He also pointed out that the pervasive use of mobile phones, especially the social media, is a contributing factor to the rising divorce rate, noting that it has led to a decline in communication and intimacy among couples.

To combat this trend, Fr. Mwanza urged married couples to seek Divine Wisdom to strength for their families.
