A statue of the Virgin Mary has been stolen from St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Ndeke, Ndola Archdiocese. Parish priest Fr. Grievance Mulenga who has confirmed the incident says the statue was taken from the Church premises between Sunday and Monday last week.

“On Wednesday, a neighbor informed the caretaker that they saw a man jumping over the church’s wall fence, but after a search, the person could not be found,” Fr. Mulenga said in an interview”.

For Catholics, Virgin Mary statues are more than artistic creations; they are powerful symbols of faith, Mary’s maternal love, and her intercession for the Church which has shaped Christian devotion for centuries.
