SOUTH  SUDAN: Catholic Bishop Commends Minister for Advancing Education in South Sudan

Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of Tombura Yambio Diocese has commended the National Minister of Education, Awut Deng, for her unwavering dedication and leadership in advancing education across South Sudan.

In a heartfelt message, Bishop Hiiboro praised the Minister for her recent address to the children of South Sudan, which he said, demonstrated her deep commitment to nurturing the minds that will shape the nation’s future.

“I write to you today with great admiration and respect, extending my heartfelt congratulations for your tireless dedication and leadership in advancing education across South Sudan. Your recent address to the children of our nation is a testament to your unwavering commitment to nurturing the minds that will shape our country’s future,” Bishop Hiiboro stated.

Bishop Hiiboro emphasized that Minister Awut’s work highlights the fundamental role of education in the development of South Sudan.

“Through education, we as a country stand united in our support for your efforts, recognizing that it is the key to unlocking the vast potential within each child,” he said.

Bishop Hiiboro also praised the Minister’s message to school children during the announcement of the last national examination results, where she urged them to reject dishonest practices and embrace their full potential as future leaders.

“You have rightly highlighted that the true strength of our nation lies in the education of our young minds,” he added.

The Bishop underscored the importance of education in cultivating professionals across various fields who will contribute to the well-being and advancement of society.

“Education is the cornerstone upon which all progress is built. It is through education that we will cultivate good medical doctors, skilled engineers, ethical politicians, religious leaders, and all the professionals who contribute to the well-being and advancement of our society,” Bishop Hiiboro affirmed.

He also warned that those who oppose Minister Awut’s initiatives are hindering the nation’s progress.

 “Your work ensures that our children and youth receive the quality education they deserve, preparing them to become the architects of a prosperous and peaceful South Sudan,” he noted.

In his closing remarks, Bishop Hiiboro called on all South Sudanese to recognize that the future of the country is at stake and that education is key to securing that future.

“Be assured that you have the full support of the Church and the broader community in your mission to educate and empower our young generation,” he said,

“We stand with you, confident that through your leadership, the youth of South Sudan will rise to meet the challenges of tomorrow, equipped with the knowledge and values that only a good education can provide.”
