ZAMBIA: Newly Ordained Priests Need Prayers and Support, Says Ndola Archbishop

The Archdiocese of Ndola has witnessed a momentous event as ten candidates were ordained to the priesthood on 17th August 2024, for who the ordaining bishop requested the faithful for their prayerful support so that they may remain faithful to their call.

The ordination, presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri the Archbishop of Ndola, took place at the Sisters of John the Baptist Convent in Kitwe.

The ceremony attracted a large gathering, with over a hundred priests and numerous faithful filling the grounds to witness this sacred milestone.

In his homily, Archbishop Phiri emphasized humility, urging the newly ordained priests to remain humble regardless of their education and achievements.

He encouraged them to learn from their senior priests and to stay steadfast in their vocation, warning against the temptations that could lead them astray.

The ordination was a significant occasion, marked by deep spiritual reflection and commitment, as the ten new priests prepared to embark on their ministry within the Church.
