Bishop George Lungu of the Chipata Diocese in Zambia has urged Christians to maintain the sanctity of the Church, emphasizing that it is a place of worship and not for other activities.
Speaking during the blessing of a sub-parish Chikwa in the Chama district, which was elevated to a full parish, Bishop Lungu stressed the importance of caring for church property.
In addition, Bishop Lungu appealed to the government to address the pressing issue of human-wildlife conflict in the area, prioritizing human life over animal conservation.
He emphasized the need for government intervention to protect the community.
The event marked a significant milestone for the Chikwa sub-parish, now elevated to a full parish, and underscored the collaborative efforts between the government and religious institutions in driving development and addressing community concerns.
