During his courtesy visit to His Grace Archbishop MenghisteabTesfamariam, the Prelate appreciated that visiting member episcopal conferences to share experiences, and hold meetings, is important as it helps to get first-hand information and data regarding the overall pastoral and social activities in the AMECEA region.

Fr. Paul in his part highlighted that the visit is to show AMECEA’s solidarity towards what the Catholic Church in Eritrea is doing to fulfill the mandate underpinned in the Holy Father’s Encyclical ‘Laudato Si’ and the AMECEA’s Implementation guidelines.

From 8-9, August, Fr. Igweta visited Durfo and Deqi Zeru, within the jurisdiction of the Arch Eparchy of Asmara, and participated in the community tree planting campaigns. In both sites, a total of 550 seedlings were planted.

At Our Lady’s Dormition Catholic Parish in Ametsi, Fr. Igweta explained the seven Laudato Si goals and the AMECEA guidelines and resolutions aimed at.  He also conducted awareness training for ErCS, Catholic Secretariat Arch Eparchy of Asmara (CSAA), and members of Justice and Peace Commissions at the National and Arch Eparchial levels.
