ZAMBIA: Archbishop of Kasama Tells Catholic Traditional Leaders to Reject Witchcraft
Sandra Kunda
During the gathering for members of the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) in Lubushi Minor Seminary in Zambia, Archbishop Ignatius Chama commended everyone who took part in the preparation of this event.
His Grace expressed happiness over the huge turnout of men to this gathering despite the absence of representatives for two parishes but was, however, quick to state that the priests and leaders in these parishes have to work hard and encourage the men to attend important events such as this.
In his message to the traditional leadership present at the gathering, Archbishop Chama called on them to denounce and reject the practice of witchcraft and witch-hunting.
He said as traditional leaders who love God and the gospel, they must strive to do the right thing so that they, too can have everlasting life.
The Men’s Annual Gathering was characterized by various activities and singing competitions, which saw some parishes win prizes while the Catholic men in the Archdiocese of Kasama contributed K628,582 (24,080 USD) towards the development and building of structures at Natende Pastoral Centre within the Archdiocese of Kasama.
