After a year-long celebration of the golden jubilee of Small Christian Communities (SCCs) in the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) region, the Archdiocese of Ndola, Zambia has officially closed this period which was launched in  Malawi in 2023.

Archbishop Benjamin Phiri led the celebration of Mass for the closure at Pamodzi Parish in Ndola, which coincided with the Diaconate Ordination, where three seminarians were raised to the order of the diaconate.

During Mass, all the SCCs that won the Deanery Bible quiz were recognized and awarded for their outstanding performance.

During the celebration of 50 years of existence of SCC in the AMECEA Region, SCCs were encouraged to intensify Biblical Studies as a way of deepening faith.

The SCC is a model that was created in December 1973 as a pastoral priority in the region.
