UGANDA: Making Friends with Focus, Faith, and Education are Best Ways to Richness, Says Prelate

Fear of God and supporting education in family are the wealth a Christian should strive for, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira has said.

In his speech shortly after presiding over Holy Mass at Uganda Martyrs Kakone Parish, Sunday 21st July 2024 where he confirmed over 500 in the Catholic faith and installing three Eucharistic Ministers, Bishop Kibira reaffirmed his warning against discrimination which he said does not only affect development but fuel conflicts.

The Bishop asked God’s children to vet their acts and their friends, as well as making friends with focus, teaching the values and norms of the Catholic Church among the youth and support to the education of their children.

Bishop Kibira also encouraged Christians to continuously recite the Rosary which he said unites them with the Lord through the intersession of Mother Mary of the Church.

He urged Christians not to only share from the Holy Meal in the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist but also imitate on the love of Christ whose body and blood are present with them in the bread and wine offered at the Holy Altar of Christ.

The parish priest of Kakone, Rev Fr. Cosmas Baluku, urged the confirmands to practice and protect their faith in Christ by desisting from acts of double standards, encouraging catechist to live exemplary to guide the consciousness of the community members and lead souls to salvation.

Hon. Jeremiah Bwanandeke, the Kasese District male councilor for Mahango subcounty commended government for the ongoing road construction works before asking the Bishop for a helping hand to equip the Buthalimuli Church founded health center for the good of the vulnerable community members.

Mr. Cleous Bwambale, the Bukonzo County East MP contender, commended Bishop Kibira for his parental, spiritual and developmental guidance he said will not only transform the diocese but create financially empowered Christians.
