The Bishop of Mpika Rt. Rev Edwin Mulandu has called on the 12 newly ordained deacons from St. Dominic Major Seminary in Lusaka to remain with a good reputation filled with wisdom

Speaking when he ordained twelve new deacons of various dioceses and religious congregations, Bishop Mulandu told the ordinands that Jesus has set an example for them to follow therefore they should do the will of God generously and save others wholeheartedly in love and joy

The Bishop stated that deacons should always strive to save God alone, as no man can save two masters.

Newly ordanined Deacons

Emphasizing the need to maintain a good image, Bishop Mulandu urged the newly ordained deacons to show God and man that they are above suspicions of blame and that they are rooted in faith.

He also told the new deacons that at this point, they should not only listen to the word of God but preach it and be moved to compassion for others, just as Jesus did.

“As you proclaim the word, hold the ministry of faith with a clear conscience”, Bishop Mulandu stressed.

He has since called on the families and friends of the newly ordained deacons to always be supportive, bearing in mind the importance and the kind of ministry these men have taken up.
