The Catholic Church in Zambia has started its Catholic Forum Assembly with a special papal blessing that was imparted through the President of the ZCCB Most Rev. Ignatius Chama who just arrived in Zambia after attending the Synod on Synodality.
“I would like to bring to you the blessings that I got on your behalf from the Holy Father. When I went to greet him, I asked for blessings from the Zambian Church. You are the Zambian Church, receive the blessings,” the Archbishop said.
The Archbishop of Kasama further reported that the first session of the Synod recommended that Small Christian Communities be established in the entire Universal Church.
“Small Christian Communities are now widespread throughout the world for fostering a listening practice and there was a call (at the Synod) to enhance its potential, particularly how they can be applied to urban areas,” Archbishop Chama said.
Most Rev. Chama further said during the Synod when it came to voting for or against the statement that Small Christian Communities must be adopted in the whole Catholic Church and explore the way in which SCCs can be established in urban sittings, it received an overwhelming ‘Yes’ vote.
