UGANDA: Do the Work of Mercy as the Church commands Says Ugandan Prelate

The Local Ordinary of Kasese diocese, Uganda Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has expressed his dissatisfaction over the way political, civil, and other religious leaders responded toward the full resettlement of the eleven survivors of the June 16th Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) attack.
In his homily during holy mass for Kasese-Kampala Community-KKACO held at Loudel House in Nsambya in Kampala on Sunday 29th Oct 2023, Bishop Kibira asked Christians to know what the Mother Church stands for by putting their love in action by helping those in need.
The Bishop later revealed that from the beginning, he did not perceive KKACO as a very serious, strong, and organized Catholic Church community until they put their worthiness into action, asking the community to keep focused on God’s work.
He also tasked the same community to process development and physical plans that would enable him lobby for funds for the construction of the Church project at the Diocesan in Nsambya in Kampala.
Bishop Kibira challenged believers in Christ to find one good act of mercy to other people in the community as directed by the Holy Father, saying faith, love, and unity with no action is dead and urged Christians to keep their faith alive in doing good acts of mercy to the less privileged in the communities.
Mr. John Makombo, the KKACO chairperson announced about eighty million shillings had been collected in cash and pledges that Sunday for the construction of the new Cathedral in Kasese.
According to Mr. Julius Mughuma, the Kasese-Kampala Community was a unifying factor that has brought them together as people from the Diocese of Kasesebut in matters of development.
They pray that the Bishop’s pastoral program covers them usually for Spiritual nourishment.
The Community’s Chaplain, Fr. Alex Kamanzi had earlier asked Christians to fully involve their children in Church work in preparation for their God’s service in the future. END
