Rt. Rev. Benjamin Phiri has celebrated 3 years as Bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Ndola.
He was installed as the sixth Bishop of Ndola Diocese on 15th August 2020 after being elevated by Pope Francis from the role as Auxiliary Bishop under Chipata Diocese.
And mass has been celebrated in the Cathedral of Christ the King to mark the 3rd Anniversary of Bishop Benjamin Phiri in Ndola Diocese on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary.
In his homily, Bishop Phiri described the Blessed Virgin Mary as a woman of great faith who played a key role in the salvation history of humankind.
“The greatness of Mary, the mother of God, is in her faith. She was a woman of great faith to such an extent that she believed in everything that God communicated to her and she was ready to obey,” Bishop Phiri preached.
On his anniversary in Ndola Diocese, Bishop Phiri pledged to continue being a servant of God and the people.
“I pray for your cooperation. I am here for a service and I would do what I can to serve you,” Bishop Phiri said in his final remarks during Mass.
“To the Vicar General (Fr. Lewis Mutachila), the clergy, religious superiors and others and all of you who are gathered here, I am your servant, let us work together,” he said.
Bishop Phiri last April celebrated his 12th Anniversary as Bishop.
